everyone say hello..

to my newest friend:
his name is Adom Metchro Laycock.
The newest member of our eternal family!!

Thursday was such a wonderful, exciting and anxiously awaited day!

My auntie Nae and uncle Scott have been waiting 2 years for this boy..
and we have all been waiting along side them.
They were able to travel to Africa (finally!) to pick him up.
and Thursday they came home.

Our whole family came to the airport
where we watched for them to walk through the doors
for what seemed like years.

When they finally came..
We all started clapping, cheering, crying and taking pictures.

Adom got to meet his new older brother, Ty first..
then my uncle Scott held him up high to us and said
"Adom, this is it. This is your family"
What a moment. What a life changing blessing.

We all wiped tears from our faces, and each got a turn to hold him.
Oh to finally hold that little boy!!
It truly is a miracle!
I am so incredibly happy for my aunt and uncle.
it is hard not to be!

1. He has the cutest smile ever.

2. He wasn't shy at all. He was so happy and giggly.
It was almost as if he already knew who we were and we already knew him.

3. He loves "motos" and he gives lots of "beezus" (kisses)

4. He is soo small! He is 2 and is shorter and smaller than a 1 and 1/2 year old

5.  He has been prayed for so many times, and so blessed with the family
he is now a part of.  His life has become so much better than it ever could
have been in Africa.

He is so loved and we are so thankful that he is finally here!
Can't wait to get to play with this little guy way more often!!

We love you Adom!

Love, Erin

time for another change.

I've always known that change is good.
Yes, sometimes scary.
and yes, sometimes challenging.
But always for the good.

With so many new and exciting changes happening
my head keeps spinning around
and sometimes I feel more overwhelmed than I'd like to.

But I am so eager for a fresh start and for a different view!
I mean who doesn't like starting new?

I've decided to study Early Childhood/Elementary Education!
I CANNOT wait to become a teacher!
It is what I love to do, it really is.

While I am studying I am also taking my spot back as a dance teacher.
Super stoked!
I love having my job and I love the little girls I get to teach.
It has been such a blessing in my life..
I can't wait to start teaching again!

So many changes, so many new things!
I seriously can't wait to see where my life continues to takes me!

“I made up my mind not to care so much about the destination, and simply enjoy the journey.”

Until then...

so many new things..

Since there seems to be so many things going on in life..

I thought I might just update a bit.

Almost a month ago, my twelve year old brother Dylan broke his leg.
He went camping with his best friend Ben's family..
and while riding an ATV Dylan hit his leg on a metal pole.
It broke in 4 places; 3 breaks on the big bone and 1 on the smaller bone.
Life has been a little bit crazy since.
But he really pulled through and is still recovering!
He will be done recovering in December.
So we have a ways to go, but he is truly a champ!!

This past month, my sweet niece Adelaide turned 1!
I still can't believe she is so big!!

We had a "Lemonade Stand" party that turned out darling!
She had a really good time digging into her cake!

My brother Jake started marching with AF band this summer!
He is playing the tuba and he loves it!

My aunt and uncle, Scott and Nae are finally in Africa!
They have been waiting for two years to get their little boy Adom &
they have finally made it, and are in the Ivory Coast!
I am so excited for them to come home safely,
and I can't wait to meet the little guy!
They seriously deserve getting him beyond comprehension!
I mean, how stinkin adorable is he?

Like I said, so many things going on!!

My cousin Steve (I've always called him Bubba)
has left for college in Chicago!
I'm going to miss him lots!!

Now that I'm home from Ephraim, I get to play with my girls everyday!
All the kids are so fun & I love being with them!!

Finally,
I am just so glad to be home.
I am happy to be spending time with my family.
I've missed them so much!
I start school at UVU this month, and I can't wait!
I'm so excited for the fun, new changes I'm making..
and we will just keep moving forward
and see where life keeps taking me!

Until then..

Love, Erin
